Suicide is a known risk of depression and certain other psychiatric disorders, and these disorders themselves are the strongest predictors of suicide. Hepatic Impairment: In patients with chronic alcoholic liver disease, plasma concentrations of ATIVAN IV are markedly increased. If clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of secondary infection occur, a complete blood count should be obtained. Since Ativan Iv is sometimes taken only as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in the pediatric population have not been established. The risk of severe esophageal adverse experiences appears to be greater in patients who lie down after taking ATIVAN IV and/or who fail to swallow it with the recommended amount of water, and/or who continue to take ATIVAN IV after developing symptoms suggestive of esophageal irritation. Plasma TCA concentrations may need to be monitored, and the dose of TCA may need to be reduced, if a TCA is coadministered with PAXIL (see PRECAUTIONS - Drugs Metabolized by Cytochrome CYP2D6). In a controlled trial the addition of HCTZ to ativan iv 80 mg resulted in additional lowering of systolic and diastolic blood pressure by approximately 6/3 and 12/5 mmHg for 12.5 and 25 mg of HCTZ, respectively, compared to ativan iv 80 mg alone. It also lacks the prominent sedative effect that is associated with more typical anxiolytics. Because of the difficulty in reliably administering doses of less than 2.5 mg (? teaspoon) of ATIVAN IV syrup and in the absence of pharmacokinetic and safety information for cetirizine in children below the age of 6 years with impaired renal or hepatic function, its use in this impaired patient population is not recommended.
